Water Testing
Well Water and other sources such as Spring Fed Reservoirs can become contaminated at any time without your knowledge. Regular well water testing or spring water testing is the only way that you can assure a clean supply of drinking water from these sources. The North Carolina Division of Public Health recommends testing well water every year for coli-form bacteria, every two years for heavy metals, nitrates, nitrites, lead, copper, and volatile organic compounds, and every 5 years for pesticides. Mountains To Sea Inspections makes well water and spring water testing simple, fast and affordable.
Ground Water
In North Carolina we consider any water source that is serviced by surface water or ground springs as ground water. These sources of water are usually collected in cisterns, built from a multitude of materials, and usually are very exposed to environmental inputs. Mountains To Sea Inspections, highly recommends testing these water sources for Ecoli and bacteria to insure the water source is safe for drinking. Also keep in mind that the full well scan will provide a much more detailed analysis of the ground water.
Well Water
Private wells are constructed to capture water found underground to be used for drinking and other purposes such as irrigation. Wells typically consist of a pipe that connects an aboveground cap, or wellhead, to an aquifer. An aquifer is an underground formation that contains water. The well is attached to a pump that draws the water from the aquifer and delivers it to a house or faucet. Our home inspectors perform 100's of well water tests a year and it is not uncommon to encounter many of these common water born contaminates, with the most common being Coliform Bacteria.
